Value for Money is our signature rating—it answers the question: "Is this card worth its price?" We believe a free card with good rewards is inherently better than an expensive card with the same rewards.
This rating contributes 22.5% to overall score and is what makes our rankings different. Premium cards must significantly outperform free cards to rank well here.
We apply Value for Money multipliers based on annual fee:
Free cards with good features get +0.4 bonus. Expensive cards that don't rank well get -0.3 penalty.
Everyone should consider value, but especially:
Because value is relative to cost. A free card offering 5% cashback delivers infinite ROI. A ₹10,000 card must deliver ₹10,000+ in quantifiable value just to break even, then significantly more to beat the free option.
When you'll fully utilize their benefits. Frequent international travelers using Priority Pass, golf enthusiasts using complimentary rounds, and high spenders earning uncapped rewards can extract value exceeding even ₹50,000 annual fees.
Value for Money is perhaps the most important factor for most users. Don't be seduced by premium features you won't use. The best card is one where your actual value extracted significantly exceeds your actual cost paid.
