Important note: Niyo is NOT a credit card, it's a debit card backed by a special account. If you get scammed, actual money is at risk.

The DCC scam is everywhere in tourist areas. ALWAYS pay in local currency. If terminal says 'guaranteed rate' or shows INR - DECLINE.

The Dynamic Currency Conversion warning needs to be in BOLD. I've seen tourists get scammed 8% at restaurants in Paris accepting DCC.

SBI Cashback 5% on international ONLINE is the real hack. I pay for all my subscriptions (Netflix, Spotify, NYT, Audible) via this card. Net profit after markup.

The annual fee calculation matters. IDFC ₹10K seems high but 0% markup saves ₹3.5K per ₹1L spent. Breaks even at ₹3L annual international spend.
